I’m a qualified and registered therapist and mindfulness coach based in Islington, N1 London, combining hypnotherapy and psychotherapy to help with any kind of confidence, anxiety, insomnia, self-esteem or self-control issues
I have several years of experience and hundreds of client hours, with high success rates of supporting clients to transform their lives and reach their goals.
I have a Master’s degree from the University of Oxford in Psychology, Philosophy and Physiology and a Diploma in Hypno-Psychotherapy from the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy. I’m a registered member of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council, and the National Society of Hypnosis, Psychotherapy and Mindfulness. I’m bound by the code of ethics, data protection and confidentiality of the UKCP, and I am also a qualified yoga instructor with Yoga Alliance.
How does hypnotherapy work?
I tailor my approach to suit you rather than trying to fit you to a standard hypnotherapy script and I use only evidence-based techniques. My academic background included neurophysiology and the study of neuroplasticity which underlies all my techniques and approaches. I also have my own personal daily yoga and meditation practice which borrows heavily from Buddhist and mindfulness-based philosophies. I believe that we are what we practice, and that with calm focus, self-compassion and a bit of time, we can all shift the neurological patterns that are our thoughts, feelings, behaviours and relationships, so as to live healthier and happier lives.
A typical session with me would be half spent talking about your week or your feelings, and then the other half in a deep relaxation session, during which we can walk through situations you find tricky, as well as learn to be more relaxed in body and mind. The relaxed state is also excellent for developing focus and directing your energies on areas of your life that you feel would benefit from that.
You will remain fully conscious and in control during hypnosis, and will not, under any circumstances, be made to cluck like a chicken! You may find, however, that change is surprisingly easy, once your subconscious is involved in the process. The trick is to find the sweet spot between relaxation and sleep, where your imagination is at its peak and you feel completely safe to explore new ideas. The positive associations that you form in this state will stay with you after the session.

How much does therapy cost?
Therapy can be expensive, but can be utterly transformative across your whole life, and may well save you money in the long run if you are not yet earning your full potential due to low confidence, or resorting to drink, drugs, retail therapy or other expensive habits to manage your emotions. Sometimes, the cost of therapy can prevent people getting the help they badly need. If this is the case for you, then do get in touch anyway and if I have free slots I may be able to offer a discounted rate, depending on availability.
My fees are:
£50 per hour if you come to my low-cost clinic on Thursdays evenings between 5-9pm
£80 per hour at other times (see availability below)
£150 per hour if you would like me to come to your workplace (Group rates are available).
Home visits are possible under some circumstances.
My available hours are:
Mon: 8am – 10pm
Tues: 8am – 6pm
Wed: 8am – 10pm
Thurs: 8am – 4pm, low-cost clinic at Canonbury Natural Health Centre, 5-9pm
Fri: 8am – 7pm
How many therapy sessions are needed?
I never put pressure on clients to invest more time or money than they choose to. The length and frequency of therapy is up to you. Some clients find that around 6-8 weekly or fortnightly sessions is all they need, but sometimes therapy can be longer-term over several months or even years, it depends entirely on the value you are getting from it and the depth of issues we are working with. You are always free to take breaks and come back at other points in your life if that works for you.
Depending on your circumstances and what your therapy goals are, I sometimes operate in the short term (6-8 sessions) as a hypnotherapist, or a meditation coach, guiding you in setting up a regular self-practice. I am also able to act in a longer-term capacity as an ongoing therapist. If you would like to have longer, more in-depth conversations about your life, I am also a trained psychotherapist and qualified to handle whatever comes up in those conversations. In some circumstances, it may be appropriate to refer you to someone with more qualifications in a particular area or to your GP but we would discuss this as we went along.
I cannot guarantee success rates from the work that you put into your own transformation with my support, but I can assure you that you will receive a well-qualified, experienced, compassionate and professional service from me during our sessions. In line with the code of ethics of the UKCP, I don’t provide testimonials from past clients. All therapists are different and if you don’t feel that you are getting what you need from me, then please do feel free to let me know and shop around for someone else. Please don’t give up on therapy altogether!

Unfortunately some clients change their mind and don’t show up for their first appointment. I then have to charge them the full fee, as it prevented another client having that slot. If anything comes up meaning that you can’t make any appointment, please let me know as soon as you can in advance (at least 24 hours)..
